The Land, The Resources, The People - A Timeline of Union County

Learn about Union County from the distant past - 65 million years ago, with the fossils of sea creatures and large reptiles that once lived on this spot to the giant mammals of the Ice Age.  See the stone tools used by the first people who lived in this area.  Discover what happened in the Treaty of Pontotoc and how the culture and landscape began to change in the 1830s.  Experience the Civil War with Girerson’s Raid and the others which brough about the burning of New Albany.  Find the birthsite of William C.
